The Department

The Finance team is a core part of the Janus Henderson business, currently with approximately 80 members of staff globally with 15 in Business Finance.The Business Finance team is part of the wider FP&A team, reporting to the CFO.

Thekey team deliverables of the Business Finance team isproviding end to end finance support to the business by working to:

  • Ensure budgets and forecasts agreed by the Exco and functional Exco members based outside the region are managed appropriately, flagging risks where necessary.

  • Enable functional heads to manage the Asia Pacific resources of their global teams.

  • Provide independent advice and support to the business as well as challenging where appropriate.

  • Produce and track accurate and efficient budgets and forecasts.

  • Ensure the group MI team has appropriate commentary and support to report monthly results and changes in forecasts to Exco.

  • Ensure business functions have sufficient finance representation and support for projects, initiatives and supplier or client commercial arrangements.

  • Prepare ad-hoc analysis as required by management.

Overview of the Role

This role sits within the Business Finance team, a team with 15 analysts, senior analysts and managers located in Singapore (2), London (6) and Denver (7).You will work alongside and support the Business Finance Manager inproviding end to end business finance support to the Asia Pacific Senior Management.

You will be responsible for contributing to and delivering core financial planning and analysis outputs as part of the wider firm processes and serve as a partner to senior business leaders to drive resource planning and control, as well as to support and facilitate effective forward looking business decision making with commercial insight to identify opportunities to create value.

Duties and Responsibilities

You will:

  • Produce and develop monthlyAUM, flows, expenses and headcount reports for Asia Pacific Distribution Heads and Senior Management Team.

  • Partner and work directly with regional sales, product and marketing teams on their financial planning and budgeting.

  • Support distribution and marketing heads to build, review, prioritise and validate budget for their business area including projects and strategic initiatives.

  • Compile regional budget and forecast for group consolidation and direct input to Central Planning Systems.

  • Work with HR to manage and monitor headcount and resource budget.

  • Support the regional product team with financial analysis on new products and initiatives.

  • Support functional Business Finance leads on Asia Pacific related financials.

  • Collaborate and work proactively with the wider FP&A and Business Finance teams in London and Denver as well as Asia Pacific Accounting team to improve quality, efficiency and effectiveness of day to day responsibilities.

  • Liaise with various system teams on system data integrity and hierarchy change.

  • Respond to ad-hoc reporting requests from Business Units to support decision making.

  • Carry out additional duties as assigned.

Technical Skills and Qualifications

  • A qualified accountant (CPA, CA or equivalent)

  • Minimum of 2 years Investment Management industry experience

  • Budgeting and Forecasting experience

  • Experience of working with senior management / business partnering desirable

  • Experience of working in a global organisation desirable

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assimilate information quickly and gain consensus from multiple stakeholders when required.
