Overview of the role

You will work to develop Janus Henderson’s domestic private client and family office services (PCFOS) activities. In this role your responsibilities may also include sales to, and support of, other intermediary client types. You will report to Senior Managing Director, PC FOS Sales within Retirement Strategy Group (“RSG”).

Duties and responsibilities

You will:

  • Work to grow the company's asset footprint and overall relationship quality across targeted prospect and client areas

  • Build and execute against client-level sales and servicing strategies to ensure the advancement of the PCFOS business

  • Actively participate in the durable and profitable business growth across the PCFOS client base

  • Coordinate, with direct manager and the input of others across JCG, various aspects of PCFOS relationship development, including opportunity identification, prospect/client segmentation, interface and collaboration with investment management personnel, sales pipeline maintenance, new account onboarding and ongoing client support

  • Collaborate between PCFOS and other business divisions (e.g., Marketing, broader RSG team, Advisor Solutions Group, Janus Institutional, Janus Labs, etc.) to maximize company’s collective ability to raise and retain assets

  • Assist immediate manager with the development of annual sales goals and annual discretionary budget

  • Interpret and champion thoughtful responses to financial services and wealth industry, client and product development trends vis-à-vis JCG’s investment capabilities and client-centered servicing model

  • Advance business-building ideas, campaigns and innovative sales and asset retention tactics along with your direct manager

  • Carry out additional duties as assigned

Technical skills and qualifications

  • Existing relationships across the domestic financial services and wealth industry—trust officers, analysts, platform product personnel, consultants, trade association contacts, etc.

  • Strong interpersonal/communication, negotiation, consensus-building and public presentation skills

  • Proven ability to prioritize multiple tasks, projects and priorities with limited guidance and oversight

  • Shown ability to effectively communicate, collaborate and problem-solve across business divisions

  • Proven knowledge of the mutual fund industry, ’40 Act investment vehicles, trust institutions and family office structures

  • Knowledge of, and proficiency with, CRM systems and general client relationship servicing processes and practices

  • Ability to forge respect- and trust-based relationships up, down and across a complex, constantly evolving financial services organization

  • Approaches business challenges with an ambitious perspective and passion

  • Track record of professional integrity and stewardship of confidential information

  • Results-orientated with a strong ability to execute against strategic objectives

Competencies required

In addition to putting clients first, acting like an owner, and succeeding as a team, the competencies for this role include:

  • Five (5) or more years in the financial services industry

  • Solid financial services, wealth industry, related product and product pricing knowledge base

  • Proven sales, client relationship and distribution experience in a financial service setting

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Marketing or related field (or equivalent experience) required

  • Series 7 and 63 licenses required
