The department

Distribution is responsible for the marketing, promotion and ongoing development of our product offering, for both institutional and intermediary channels globally. Distribution is a trusted partner to our clients and we enable investment solutions through active management. Areas within Distribution consist of Sales, Global Marketing, Global Product and Investment Trusts.

Overview of the role

You will work closely with the US Offshore team, to develop and implement a distribution sales strategy to continue the group's expansion into the US offshore market. This role will focus on the distribution of the mutual fund ranges of Janus Henderson Investors (JHI). You must possess strong inter-personal relationship qualities and demonstrate initiative with the existing and prospective customers assigned. This role is flexible with regard to business travel and schedules.

Duties and responsibilities

You will:

  • Present the Janus Henderson proposition in a coherent and persuasive manner to the target client base, increasing brand awareness, sales and profitability across the region.

  • Take a pro-active approach to senior level relationship building, with local and global institutions in the region.

  • Develop new relationships (even the portfolio is existing) and build on existing relationships in US Offshore, contributing to and delivering against the strategy set for US Offshore

  • Deliver against new and existing business opportunities and Distribution agreements/partners in US Offshore, build the Janus Henderson brand through direct client calling, appropriate marketing and face -to-face meetings.

  • Effectively work with internal partners (for example Client Relationship Management, Marketing, Compliance, Legal) to provide an exceptional service to clients.

  • Manage a range of existing distribution channels, taking a pro-active role in implementing new distribution agreements.

  • Demonstrate exceptional knowledge of Janus Henderson strategies/products whilst maintaining knowledge of financial markets and competitor products and positioning.

  • Deliver quality information and a consistent house view to clients in a professional and timely manner.

  • Identify potential gaps in our product offerings, partnering with Product and Marketing departments to improve our offerings to the market.

  • Partner with the Marketing team in London to improve the development of client presentation materials, questionnaires, and presentation decks to appropriately reflect local market nuances.

  • Forge strong, collaborative relationships with colleagues across the different distribution channels globally to identify opportunities for cross-selling.

  • Partner with Client Relationship Management team to effectively service existing clients and to identify and pursue new business opportunities

  • Responsible for weekly and monthly reporting on sales activity and pipeline business within region, whilst maintaining and updating Maximizer database as appropriate.

  • In charge of the collective net annual budget for this clientele and should be able to reach and go beyond predefined targets.

  • Carry out additional duties as assigned.

    Technical skills and qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business field required and master’s degree is a plus.

  • 3+ years in financial services and offshore.

  • Fluent in English and fluent in Spanish preferred.

  • Ability to interface credibly with individuals at all levels of seniority, both externally and internally

  • Approachable and able to listen and knows how to transfer their technical skills through good communication

    Ongoing competence in the role to be assessed, in line with applicable regulatory requirements, by:

  • Annual performance appraisal

  • Completion of all assigned compliance training

    Compliance requirements

    At a minimum the role will require you to:

  • Place the interest of Janus Henderson’s Clients first, act in accordance with TCF (Treating Customers Fairly) principles

  • Understand and follow laws and regulations applicable for your role, seeking the help of your supervising manager or Compliance if additional guidance is required

  • Understand and abide by all Janus Henderson policies applicable to your role, and seek support/guidance of the policy owner guidance when required

  • You are ultimately accountable for your actions and responsible for seeking further information on any or all of the above as necessary.

    Compensation Information

    Total compensation will be comprised of an estimated base salary of $165,000 along with an annual bonus. This is estimated for this role. Actual pay may be different.

    Annual Bonus Opportunity: Position is eligible to receive an annual discretionary bonus award from the profit pool. The profit pool is funded based on Company profits. Individual bonuses are determined based on Company, department, team and individual performance
