The department

Janus Henderson offers expertise across all major asset classes, with investment teams situated around the world. These dynamic teams are structured and operate in ways that are best suited to their asset classes and manage products designed to meet a range of investor needs globally. Our Investment teams are grouped under: Equities, Fixed Income, Multi-Assets and Alternatives.

Overview of the role

The Sr. Research Management Analyst oversees and partners with the investments team to facilitate research needs, adhering to the various regulatory and compliance requirements. You will build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate each teams’ overall research budget.

Duties and responsibilities

You will:

  • Serve as the primary Research Management point of contact for EMEA and APAC investment teams and departments.

  • Oversee and manage Research Management Analyst based in London.

  • Engage, build relationships and partner with investment teams on all aspects related to research needs including the budgeting and internal/regulatory compliance.

  • Build and foster relationships with business areas throughout the company including investments, compliance, legal, procurement, technology, operations and others.

  • Be a subject matter expert with regards to MiFID II research regulations and the impact to the firm.

  • Communicate and work effectively with executive management in investment research.

  • Coordinate and supervise the broker vote, broker scorecards and payments.

  • Coordinate, build and maintain budgeting/spend for research.

  • Analyse and manage proprietary and third party systems.

  • Maintain relationships with third party vendors.

  • Engage with brokers to build working relationships.

  • Implement appropriate controls where required ensuring any procedures/policies are updated in line with any changes.

  • Work with business stakeholders to streamline and improve processes.

  • Supports project initiatives impacting the team.

  • Carry out additional duties as assigned.

    Technical skills and qualifications

  • Educated to degree level.

  • Intermediate Excel skills are required.

  • Some experience relating to MiFID II and relevant research management experience in asset management.

  • Knowledge of regulations impacting financial markets including MiFID II and specifically to research would be advantageous.

  • Annual performance appraisal.

  • Completion of all assigned compliance training.
