The department

The Global Marketing team resides within the Distribution organization and is responsible for the marketing, promotion and ongoing development of our product offerings and services to direct investors, institutional and intermediary channels globally. Distribution is a trusted partner to our clients and we enable investment solutions through active management. Areas within Distribution consist of Sales, Global Marketing, Global Product and Investment Trusts.

The Janus Henderson Portfolio Construction and Strategy (PCS) team is situated within Global Marketing and provides educational insights to our clients through proprietary analytics, thought leadership, and frequent in-person engagements. The client benefit is a better understanding of their own asset allocations and the sharing of our firm’s knowledge and insights

This role reports directly to the Head of North America Channel Marketing. A successful marketer for Portfolio Construction & Strategy (PCS) combines a sophisticated, creative, proactive and analytical skillset with a strong suite of communication and collaboration skills.

Overview of the role

As the global marketing resource for Janus Henderson’s PCS services your primary responsibility is to build and execute a long-term strategic marketing plan for PCS, partnering closely with members of the PCS team, Sales and other marketers across the Global Marketing organization.

You will lead/partner all global marketing efforts in support of PCS, including messaging development, digital presence, lead generation, events, content roadmap and campaign efforts. While not directly responsible for all elements previously stated you will be expected to proactively set the strategy, partner with organization leads and drive the execution. You will help your peers and colleagues understand our PCS offerings and overall strategy so that PCS becomes a regular part of global marketing planning activities and campaigns from the onset.

You will be the go-to resource for our global team of asset allocation and portfolio implementation subject matter experts on all marketing and promotional activities. You will communicate with global PCS team members, Sales and marketing peers. You will be expected to be highly collaborative and have the ability to develop strong partnerships with a variety of individuals across the Distribution organization.

You will need to not only set the strategy but drive the completion of the marketing plan, some of which will be clearly outlined, and some of which will be relatively unstructured and require you to apply your own judgement and intuition in order to successfully complete.

Duties and responsibilities

You will:

  • Create and execute the marketing plan: develop a marketing vision to support PCS’s overall business growth objectives and lead all aspects of the day-to-day implementation across marketing activities.

  • Develop global collateral, digital experiences, and campaigns that assist with the promotion of our PCS intellectual capital and capabilities.

  • Build brand awareness, in coordination with our Brand Team, by helping develop all aspects of the branding strategy for PCS.

  • Partner closely with our Events, PR/Communication, Content and Social Media Teams to drive promotional activities that build our PCS brand.

  • Work closely with Sales and become a “trusted partner” to help drive regional and in some cases, territory specific plans, to proactively promote PCS with targeted clients.

  • Break down barriers, solve cross-functional issues, build strategic relationships and gain consensus for marketing strategies through a highly collaborative approach and partnership mentality.

  • Excellent track-record as a marketing professional with tangible results

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills and ability to influence through all levels of an organization

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required; master’s degree preferred

    At a minimum the role will require you to:
