The department
The Finance team operates across all business lines to maximise stakeholder returns. With approximately 80 members globally, the team represents a wide range of expertise and experience, servicing the UK, Continental Europe, North America and Asia Pacific.
Overview of the Role
This London-based role, reporting directly to the Denver-based Business Finance Manager sits within the Business Finance team, which is primarily responsible for providing end to end financial support to Business Units, working closely with Executive Committee (ExCo) members and Senior Management. The team’s objective is to optimise use of the firm’s financial resources. This includes global resource planning, implementing and adhering to financial controls and facilitating effective forward-looking business decision making with commercial insight to identify opportunities to create value.
The Business Finance team works closely with the FP&A to collectively form the Global FP&A & Business Finance Team, which provides business partnering, Budgeting & Forecasting, Management Information and Executive level support to the CFO, across the firm and to various external stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities
Working in close collaboration with a Denver based Senior Business Finance Analyst you will support the London based Technology teams by:
Providingexcellent business finance support to the Technology organisation
Be the primary link between Technology and Business Finance, communicating efficiently with Senior Management up to ExCo level
Troubleshoot issues and work to resolution
Supportthe Technology teams with:
Regularreporting and analysis:
Expense and headcount reporting, highlighting risks and opportunities
Transaction analysis and investigation
Project and initiative process and reporting
Other operational metrics relevant to Technology
Financesupport to business led projects and business plans:

Business expansion, contraction or reallocation
Buy/build analyses
Efficiency optimisation
Process re-design
Budgeting and forecasting:

Responsible for end to end budgeting and forecasting process
Develop financial plans and forecasts on an annual, quarterly, and ad hoc basis
Ad hoc analysis:
-
Supports cross-functional special projects
Actively input into driving process efficiency
Proactively identifies and resolves problems that may be complex in nature
Finance Platform:

Participate in projects to enhance or improve the use of the finance technology platform
Carry out additional duties as assigned.
Technical Skills and Qualifications
Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA) or equivalent
Some FP&A or management reporting experience preferably across multiple functions
Experience of supporting Technology teams desirable
Strong financial modelling skills
Advanced competency with Microsoft Excel and proficiency with other Microsoft Office tools
Ability to analyse data and provide relevant financial insight
Investment Management industry experience preferred
Proficiency with SAP BPC, Anaplan or other financial reporting software a plus
