The Department

The Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team is based in London and consists of 6 headcount. Key team responsibilities include Group forecasts and budgets, management reporting to ExCo and The Board, supporting the CFO with ad-hoc financial analysis and ongoing development of the Finance platform.

The FP&A team is part of the Investor Relations and Finance team which includes a total of 25 headcount, located across our main offices globally (London, Denver and Singapore).

Overview of the Role

Responsibility for the financial analysis supporting the annual Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP) and the Medium Term Financial Plan (MTFP) has recently been transferred into the FP&A team. As a result this role has been created within the team to initially focus on delivering a tactical approach for these two key deliverables, and then subsequently building a more strategic solution in partnership with the Finance Technology Team. Over time there will also be scope for this role to take on other responsibilities for example the Group Cash Flow forecast process.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

You will:

  • Deliver the financial analysis to support the annual ICAAP process including forecast Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow under multiple scenarios. This includes working closely with Accounting and Transfer Pricing teams to understand historic actuals, as well as Risk and relevant Business teams to agree scenario assumptions.

  • Prepare the MTFP to support strategic decision making and delivery of the Group’s longer term objectives, working in partnership with the Corporate Development team.

  • Build new / enhance existing Excel financial models for the ICAAP and MTFP, and play a key role in developing options for strategic platform solutions and the associated implementation.

  • Carry out additional duties as assigned which may include ad-hoc financial analysis, supporting Finance platform change projects, cash flow forecasting and management reporting.

Technical Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, or equivalent

  • Qualified accountant or post-graduate degree a plus

  • Strong financial modelling skills (Excel) including experience of building integrated P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash flow models

  • Budgeting and Forecasting experience

  • Ability to analyse data and provide relevant financial insight

  • Investment Management industry experience preferred

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels

  • Able to work independently to research, analyze, synthesize and present complex qualitative and quantitative data clearly
