The department

The Human Resources department at Janus Henderson Investors is high profile and prides itself on the relationships and influence it has developed across all levels of the firm. The team is set up to provide proactive advice, thus supporting a range of specialist functions in both their day to day and more strategic business needs. The department is formed of smaller specialist teams that work together to provide the best level of expertise in all areas, including Generalist, Recruitment, Learning and Development, Reward and Pensions.

The Reward Team is a specialist area within the Human Resources department focusing on all aspects of Reward. Activities include annual pay and bonus reviews, and market competitive positioning.

Overview of the role

You will be responsible for producing analytical compensation reports and partnering with key HR and business stakeholders on a wide range of compensation related matters.

Duties and responsibilities

The role will be split 70/30 between Reward Analytics and ongoing Reward Partnering with both HR and the Business.

Reward Analytics (70%)

  • Management of Market Data for one or more business areas, to include support of data submission to Market Data providers and maintaining role match hierarchies.

  • Production of Divisional competitive pay position reports, and ad-hoc reporting on market position.

  • Develop salary and bonus distribution models for one or more business areas for the annual compensation round process.

  • Ownership of Job Codes for the business areas supported.

  • Create and distribute regular compensation and reward reports

  • Provide ad-hoc analytical and logistical support through annual pay review cycle.

  • Collaborate with other members of Reward and the wider HR Team to ensure reporting requirements are met.

  • Responsible for ensuring data integrity processes are in place.

Reward Partnering (30%)

  • Build and maintain relationships with a number of HR and Business stakeholders.

  • Key point of contact on Reward for one or more business areas.

  • Responsible for successful delivery of the annual Compensation Round for one or more business areas.

Supervisory responsibilities

Technical skills and qualifications

  • Some work experience as a Compensation Analyst or a comparable role

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills (Pivot Tables, Macros & Formulas)

  • Advanced understanding of compensation systems

  • Degree level educated in a business-related subject

  • International compensation or equivalent experience within a global organisation

  • Experience in data manipulation and reporting

  • Experience of working with build and query design databases (desired)
