Corporate Title: Marketing Assistant, Investment Trust Marketing
The Investment Trust department is responsible for Janus Henderson’s managed investment trust business which represents £7.7bn of assets under management for 13 investment companies plus the investment portfolio of The Law Debenture Corporation.
The department is split into 3 teams: the company secretariat, sales and marketing. Sales communicate with professional investors; marketing communicate with retail investors.
The marketing team (in which this role sits) currently has a headcount of 4 people and covers 3 core disciplines: public relations, content production/distribution and digital marketing.
Overview of the Role
Our aim is to promote the 13 investment trusts managed by Janus Henderson (see www.hendersoninvestmenttrusts.com for the details) and their respective fund managers to both prospective and existing Retail investors, with the hope of informing existing investors and persuading prospective investors to invest.
Designed as an entry-level position, this role focusses on the administration required to support the smooth running of the marketing operation, and with time should provide a solid foundation of experience for an up and coming financial services marketer.
The role has arisen after the previous incumbent left to travel Australia. In the short term, this role will report to the Head of Investment Trust Marketing, but will in due course move to a (yet to be appointed) Marketing Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities
Maintaining the investment trust pages within the Janus Henderson UK websites. This includes uploading documents, videos and articles, and ensuring all product information is correct and up-to-date.
Distributing content (articles and videos) to media agencies and third party content platforms.
Checking and uploading/distribution of monthly factsheets.
Distribution of Annual/Half Year Reports in response to ad-hoc requests, maintaining a supply of same for distribution.
Subtitling and Compliance of quarterly fund manager videos.
Arranging AGM livestream web-hosting, email invitations, and Compliance of video recording.
Ad-hoc email invitations through using email broadcast software (e.g. Trust TV, podcasts etc.)
Inputting invoices to budget spreadsheet and processing of invoices in online software.
Collating and distributing press cuttings internally and to clients.
Collating and inputting monthly management information, e.g. RD:IR reports, website data etc.
Social media administration (uploading posts, sourcing images etc.)
Events admin (sourcing presentations, booking venues etc.)
Assumes additional duties as assigned.
Technical Skills and Qualifications
In preference has studied a marketing, or marketing related, undergraduate course.
Good Microsoft skills, specifically Excel.
Excellent organisational/time-management skills.
Previous experience of online content management/email systems would be an advantage, although is not essential.
Good written and verbal communications skills.
The ideal candidate should have:
A willingness to learn in a practical environment.
A keen interest in retail marketing.
Keen attention to detail and a ‘right-first-time’ approach.
Experience in consumer-facing industry preferable.
Can work in a team environment, but also on own.
An interest in investing would be beneficial. Experience of investing for oneself is a bonus.
Excellent execution, focused on meeting deadlines and ensuring that work is of the highest quality.
Confident, with great communication and interpersonal skills since the role will require interaction and collaboration across the business.
Ability to work with 3rd parties, including suppliers.
