Overview of the Role

Create, produce and deliver cutting edge professional development programmes to Janus Henderson clients. The primary goal of the curricula is to provide meaningful training, coaching and consulting, resulting in enhanced client loyalty, increased asset inflows and asset retention. This person will act as spokesperson for Janus Henderson Knowledge Labs both internally and externally and will need to possess excellent presentation skills. Identify program topics by analysing industry trends and evaluating suggestions from sales staff – the Labs model calls for the anticipation and satisfaction of internal and external clients’ unstated needs. Strong consultative skills in organisational development a must. Provide training and coaching to internal sales staff on program content and delivery to insure quality and consistency of message. Coaching and consulting to industry leading teams of financial professionals. Deliver programmes directly to client audiences. Possess a strong business sensibility, ever sensitive to return on investment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Expertly deliver JH Knowledge Labs content to our clients, colleagues and partners in a compelling, entertaining and educational manner.

  • Provide strategic and tactical support in identifying, designing, developing and executing Janus Henderson Knowledge Labs program/content strategy services and programs.

  • Provide input on professional development and client service concepts that demonstrate the company’s thought leadership in these areas.

  • Enhance the business practices of financial professionals at client companies using the both the content described above as well as cutting edge content from external providers.

  • Cover primarily the UK, and to a lesser extent Continental Europe and Asia Pacific.

  • Provide coaching and training to sales staff on training content and delivery.

  • Partner with Marketing teams to create programme materials, including presentations, white papers, and follow-up materials.

  • Collaborate closely with US Labs Specialists and Marketers, seeking to align and enhance activities when and where possible.

  • From time to time train other external trainers/coaches, eg in Continental Europe and Asia Pacific.

  • Identify program topics by analysing industry trends, meeting with industry and academic thought leaders and evaluating suggestions from sales staff.

  • Understand and align activities with relevant Distribution strategies

  • Develop specific project plans, plans resources, and establishes project schedule to meet the needs of the specific business unit.

  • Perform ongoing business analysis of the industry, identify trends and potential short- and long-term program needs.

  • Research and select appropriate methods, materials, technologies, content, and resource delivery for each project.

  • Maintain methods for the evaluation of program effectiveness, measuring effectiveness in the field and coordinate efforts in continually improving JHI Knowledge Labs programs.

  • Expert facilitation and presentation skills with a variety of audience sizes, channels and topics.

  • Competency in different coaching modalities and techniques.

  • Proven ability to develop effective client presentations.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and a strong desire and capability to forge relationships with sophisticated and accomplished financial advisors.

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.

  • Ability to provide strategic as well as tactical input to projects, and to conceive how desired results drive design/ positioning as well as direct tactical execution of materials.

  • Knowledge of learning methods and techniques for structuring programs and be creative, demonstrating ability to contribute to curriculum design.

  • Balance self-management with business needs and objectives.

  • Self-reflective, open to feedback and change.

  • Strong computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

  • Knowledge of company products and the mutual fund/financial services industry, including financial markets and distribution of financial products.

  • Solid understanding of sales and marketing concepts, strategies, and tactics

  • Significant experience, with coaching, facilitation and or marketing in the financial services industry.

  • Highly credible professional qualifications and affiliations, for example EMCC, ICF, AC.

  • Some experience developing training programs required.

  • Bachelor's degree required MA/MBA preferred.
