Janus Henderson Investors Business Resilience Analyst (12 month FTC) in London, United Kingdom

The department

The Risk and Compliance function (“R&C”) forms the second line of defense in the firm’s global risk management framework and champions a culture of risk and compliance throughout the organisation. The function effectively partners with the business to ensure that everyone complies with our external regulatory requirements and expectations, and internal policies and procedures so we can deliver for our clients.

The Business Resilience Team is a team within the Risk and Compliance department and is responsible for advising and overseeing the Business Resiliency of business services across Janus Henderson.

Overview of the role

You will be part of the Business Resilience project team helping to build out the framework to support Operational Resilience regulatory requirements.

Duties and responsibilities

You will:

  • Be part of the team implementing Operational Resilience Framework, including monitoring and continuous improvement.

  • Engage with stakeholders across the firm to ensure important business services are mapped in detail to operational dependencies.

  • Identifying and documenting the people, processes, technology, facilities and information that support important business services.

  • Assisting in the development of impact tolerance statements and defining a range of plausible scenarios to stress test impact tolerances.

  • Testing and improving operational resilience capabilities through scenario testing and identifying areas for improvement.

  • Producing management information and supporting reporting to the Operational Resilience Steering Group and other governing bodies.

  • Managing stakeholder engagement by building professional relationships across the business and by keeping line manager up to date on progress as well as findings from all operational resilience related activities.

  • Build direct relationships with service / pillar owners and champions, risk and compliance teams, legal teams vendor management teams, and other internal departments within Janus Henderson.

  • Develop and support additional resiliency responsibilities as required

  • Continuously seek to identify operational efficiencies in the team’s processes.

  • Carry out additional duties as assigned.

Technical skills and qualifications

  • Experience of working in asset management, ideally in an operational resilience, business continuity or operational risk role.

  • Ability to review complex processes and identify associated risks.

  • Ability to question, analyse and investigate to understand the root cause of a problem.

  • Ability to interpret and present complex situations.

  • Good IT skills, including PowerPoint, Excel, and database used for analysis and reporting purposes.

  • Demonstrable Power BI knowledge is advantageous.
