Your opportunity
Perform business analysis of sales and marketing functions for Intermediary, Institutional, and Self-directed client types, capturing the current state and proposed future state of the usage of data to fulfil strategic goals
Maintain strong relationships with our internal business customers in Sales/Marketing and Finance. Have regular checkpoints with our internal customers to communicate technical roadmaps, understand the business roadmap, and if the solution is working to their expectations
Guide the information architecture of the Janus Henderson client analytics platform, specifically for entities AUM and Flow, Client Interactions, and Competitive Intelligence
Build and maintain the information architecture design artefacts in our Confluence documentation repository, these include Conceptual and Logical Data Models, System Blueprints, Data Flow Diagrams, and Reference Architecture
Maintain the profile of data sources being used for analytics
Work with the Product Owner and Data Engineers in refinement and sprint planning to establish stories and tasks and quarterly plans. Guide the team in producing the right data artefacts and processes necessary to support the architecture
Perform 1-2 data analysis, data engineering, or testing tasks each quarter, when applicable, to stay connected to the work of the data engineers and the context necessary for the architecture

Must have skills
Experience diagramming Conceptual and/or Logical data models in tool such as ERStudio, Visio, Lucidchart, or similar tool
Skilled in writing SQL for data analysis purposes or architecture research
Experience in crafting information architectures OR architecting a data warehouse (with large datasets) and business intelligence environment using cloud delivery tools, such as AWS/GCP/Azure for the data environment and cloud BI tool such as Power BI/Tableau
Demonstrated experience working with business stakeholders to capture business definitions, strategies, and workflows and putting them into meaningful diagrams and descriptions
Significant experience translating business requirements into technical requirements and/or tying business goals to technical architecture and present the link between them to technical and business leaders in terms they can understand
Have participated in the writing of user stories and in agile ceremonies in an Agile delivery team, demonstrating ability to define user stories and their acceptance criteria
Ability to collaborate across multiple teams to achieve the goals of a project
Nice to have skills
Working knowledge and experience of the Kimball and Inmon approaches to data warehousing, as well as modern approaches using data lakes
Some experience building data pipelines for BI tools and/or data lake implementations using cloud-native tools such as AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory, Google Dataflow, and/or Python
Prior experience in financial services and investments and/or sales and marketing datasets (Morningstar, Bloomberg, Salesforce, etc.)
Experience with solutions that deliver advanced analytics, such as machine learning
Some experience using Tableau, Cognos, Qlikview, or similar BI tools, to write reports or modeling datasets
