Overview of the role
You will provide support to the lead Portfolio Manager(s) through investment analysis of specific sectors and individual securities to assist with the effective management of client portfolios. The scope of responsibility may include supporting portfolios under established investment strategy to help ensure that it reflects the investment perspective of the Portfolio Manager. You will require analytical, system and modelling skills, as well as a good understanding of individual and macro instruments and markets to ensure investment views are effectively implemented.
Duties and responsibilities
Research responsibilities: undertake investment analysis of specific sectors and individual secured loan issues / assist with the monitoring of existing holdings / identify new trade ideas
Have responsibility for supporting the lead Portfolio Manager(s) in managing portfolios or investment strategy focussed primarily on European Secured Loans
Have thorough knowledge of holdings across the portfolio(s)
Understand the critical drivers of individual positions and portfolio performance as well as portfolio construction and relevant risk management tools
Make contribution to decisions and risk management of investments within your investment area on specific portfolios
Ensure investments are made in line with the Investment Restrictions of each portfolio
Liaise with Traders, raise, amend and cancel orders in CRD for suitable investment opportunities
May be involved in contributing to sales and possibly relationship management, presenting to clients or providing updates
Contribute to validating and recording company meeting data, including meeting notes where mandatory (EMEA)
Carry out additional duties as assigned.
Has responsibility for supporting portfolios within Secured Credit - Loans asset class.
Technical skills and qualifications
Preferably CFA qualified or equivalent work experience
Preferably degree educated in a business, math or finance discipline
Knowledge of relevant sector/product/instruments for the role
Knowledge of financial modelling and/or VBA for more quantitative roles
Knowledge of Bloomberg and other market data platforms
Knowledge of Charles Rivers or other trade booking system
Where relevant, language skills for geographies covered
