Your opportunity

  • Educate financial advisors and financial planners about advanced income and estate planning strategies

  • Function as an in-house subject matter expert on sophisticated income and estate planning questions

  • Become a trusted partner of our internal sales team, educate internal stakeholders about your expertise and meet (in-person and/or virtually) with high-valued clients

  • Develop thought leadership and collateral about the latest trends and developments within the field

  • Present at large industry conferences and client events

  • Uncover new opportunities for Janus Henderson services to address client needs

  • Carry out other duties as assigned

    Must have skills

  • 10+ years as a practicing estate and trust attorney

  • Extensive experience advising ultra-high-net individuals and families (greater than $25M)

  • Expertise across different client types including corporate executives and closely held business owners

  • Deep understanding and appreciation of the non-tax issues facing wealthy families including member dynamics and tools such as mission statements

  • Knowledge of popular charitable giving strategies such as split interest trusts, private foundations, and donor advised funds

  • Strong public speaking and writing skills

  • Ability to travel approximately 50% of the year (within the U.S. only)

    Nice to have skills

  • JD, CPA, CFP, Masters in Tax, and/or other related degrees/credentials

  • Experience in the financial services industry and working with financial advisors or financial planners in particular

  • Knowledge about the asset management industry and how products and services are offered to the public through financial professionals

  • Managing, coaching, and mentoring junior colleagues

    Compensation information

    The base salary range for this position is $200,000-$235,000. This range is estiimated for this role. Actual pay may be different.

    Annual Bonus Opportunity: Position is eligible to receive an annual discretionary bonus award from the profit pool. The profit pool is funded based on Company profits. Individual bonuses are determined based on Company, department, team and individual performance.
