Janus Henderson Investors Senior Support Analyst in Denver, Colorado

Overview of the role

You will be focused on delivery and stability of our global Distribution business. Responsibilities include supporting and identifying enhancements to all technologies/systems within the Distribution Technology space. Your initial focus of is Application Support. This includes supporting key business processes, monitoring of systems, troubleshooting and making recommendations to implement small-enhancements and integrations within the Distribution Technology application stack to improve supportability. You will collaborate frequently with our business partners, management and other IT resources and/or vendors.

Duties and responsibilities

You will:

  • Provide support against service level agreements for all supported tier1, tier 2 and tier 3 Distribution Technology applications

  • Be first point of contact for all incidents with production DT applications

  • Coordinate with other DT teams, Platform and Infrastructure teams to ensure that incidents are managed seamlessly against the SLA

  • Support JHI Incident Management team as required

  • Escalate issues as required knowing who to escalate to and when

  • Apply data, configuration and minor code changes to address incidents

  • Ensure that all critical batch processes are documented and monitored e.g. middle office, TA data loads

  • Ensure that all daily, monthly and ad-hoc operational and underlying system processes run smoothly with support docs e.g. AUM & Flow, fund launch, client reporting, Salesforce daily batches and digital platform management, etc.

  • Develop SQL scripts to apply data fixes to resolve incidents

  • Debug errors in applications to get to the route of an incident

  • Ensure that acceptance environment operates to the same level as production

  • Build knowledge of all DT applications and their inter-dependencies

  • Log problem management tickets with DT teams to get root cause fixes applied / identify system weaknesses to be refactored

  • Support Ops working with TA and middle office suppliers

  • Carry out additional duties as assigned.

Supervisory responsibilities

  • None

Technical skills and qualifications

  • 5 to 7 years’ experience in business and systems analysis

  • 2 years’ experience working in an agile development environment

  • 2 to 3 years’ experience in Asset Management or Investment Banking is preferred

  • Strong problem-solving techniques to understand and resolve incidents

  • Well-developed SQL skills and knowledge of common database management systems

  • Business analysis concepts and techniques

  • Business requirements capturing

  • Knowledge of the Mutual Fund business and /or related financial industry experience a plus

  • Experience with Salesforce or other CRM tools and Assets Under Management software a distinct advantage

  • Experience in systems which feed downstream services for end user distribution including digital content publication

  • Exposure to mutual fund structures, different financial instruments and complex system interfaces

  • Experience in various project management concepts (agile, waterfall, PMP etc.) desirable

  • Experience working in a task-oriented environment

  • Ability to turn around high severity incidents quickly delivering required solutions to address the incident

  • Knowledge of commercial solutions including websites, applications, databases and workflow

  • Working knowledge of prevalent PC and server based operating systems, networks and tools; exposure to cloud services would be a distinct advantage

  • Working knowledge of Jira and Confluence

  • Experience with data development (SQL or Oracle) and cloud DevOps tools

  • Experience with debugging C#, Java and Informatica ETL code is desirable

  • Experience working in a matrix managed environment
