Overview of the Role
You will support the global business and facilitate growth by ensuring that a risk based oversight model is delivered to our fund shareholders and business partners. The fund range comprises mutual funds, hedge funds, ETFs and other non-registered products.
Duties and Responsibilities
Lead a team to review fund filings and reporting including but not limited to annual and semi-annual financial statements, NPORT, NCEN, CPO-PQR, Form PF, N-MFP, 24f-2 and board reporting
Maintain knowledge of changes to accounting practices and reporting requirements
Investigate and resolve issues identified in the oversight model ensuring appropriate preventative controls are implemented
Review the processes, procedures and controls around the operational management of the Funds and assist in developing a best practice operational model
Develop and maintain strong working relationships both internally and with external vendors; serve as point of contact for Fund related inquiries, escalating where appropriate
Procure relationships with external service providers establish quality and timeliness metrics
Develop processes for continuous improvement and industry best practices
Deliver open and clear communication of information regarding issues and business events across multiple facets of the organization
Perform analytical and reporting disclosure review for Financial Statements and Regulatory Reports
Subject matter expert for oversight tools
Understanding of legal agreements including partnership agreements and fund related documents
Assume additional duties as assigned
- Manage and review the work of team members in an effort to plan, allocate and monitor work and makes decisions regarding employment, performance appraisal, training, salary adjustments and relate personnel actions.
Technical Skills and Qualifications
In depth understanding of fund administration functionality and related accounting requirements
Strong knowledge of financial and regulatory reporting for mutual funds, ETFs and non-registered products
Experience in complex securities and related reporting requirements
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent required
Seven years related mutual fund, accounting or audit experience required
Solid computer skills including MS Word and Excel
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Committed team player able to lead your team with strong people management skills
Ongoing competence in the role to be assessed by:
Annual Performance Appraisal
Completion of all assigned Compliance training
Overtime may be required on short notice and may include evening, weekend, holiday hours
Typical office environment with telephone, copier, fax machine, calculator, various oversight tools and systems
PC usage up to 95% of the time
