Overview of the Role

Responsible for taking a leading compliance role in cross-departmental projects and initiatives related to system migrations, workflows, reporting, data and overall enhancements to continuously improve oversight provided by the Investment Compliance team. The successful candidate will use their leadership experience, compliance background, relationship building capabilities and tech-savvy ideas, to enhance pre- and post- trade compliance monitoring and forensic reporting. They will also build trust and develop relationships with key internal stakeholders including technology, trading, project management and trade support staff.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Take a leading role in the current Charles River (CRD) migration project; ensuring compliance related data and tests are properly coded and represented in the target environment through comprehensive testing.

  • Take a leading role in the upcoming CRD decommission and migration of reports utilized for monitoring.

  • Take a leading role in the upcoming CRD upgrade and requirements planning.

  • Represent Investment Compliance in project and data meetings related to systems and workflows.

  • Partner with IT and other internal business partners to ensure compliance requirements, workflows and enhancements are thoroughly tested and implemented.

  • Support and improve daily monitoring within CRD to reduce manual work and increase efficiency.

  • Establish and maintain relationships with senior management across the business and within Compliance globally.

Technical Skills and Qualifications

  • Advanced working knowledge of Charles River, investment compliance methodologies and techniques necessary

  • Strong knowledge of equity and fixed income securities and derivatives products required

  • Significant compliance experience within asset management across a broad range of products and investment management disciplines

  • Report writing and technical experience a plus

  • Bachelor's degree and relevant industry experience required.

  • A minimum of 5 years asset management and/or financial services industry experience, preferably in Compliance.


  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to exercise balanced judgment and decision making.

  • High energy, positive attitude, enthusiastic, professional, with a strong work ethic.

  • Excellent communication and influencing skills - ability to manage client expectations and competing priorities.

  • Solid knowledge of fund management processes, instruments, products and funds.

  • Proficient computer skills including trading systems and tools, Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook.

  • Good planning, prioritization, problem solving and organizational skills.

Working Environment/Physical Activities

  • Overtime may be required on short notice and may include evening, weekend, holiday hours.

  • Typical office environment with telephone, desktop computer, copier.
