Overview of the Role

You will perform routine maintenance and basic repair services to the facility’s structure, equipment and grounds, including plumbing, electrical and HVAC. You will respond to daily work order assignments and emergency situations, adhering to established departmental policies and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities

You will:

  • Assist Facilities Manager in the daily operations of repair and maintenance; Responds to work order assignments to promptly handle all maintenance problems within the department areas of responsibility.

  • Be available for a rotational on call schedule to respond to after hours emergency situations pertaining to the physical environment, i.e. system failures, alarms, water leaks, etc.

  • Physically perform the build out of office and cubical furniture and relocate employees by moving furniture and other items to designated locations.

  • Provide a high level of customer service to internal clients by providing timely response and attention to needs.

  • Assess and refer complex maintenance and repair work to outside contractors as appropriate.

  • Document all work performed and follows up with internal customer to ensure satisfaction.

  • Make periodic or special inspections/audits of the premises to determine repair work necessary.

  • Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures and ensure that premises and equipment are well maintained, clean and safe.

  • Assume additional duties as requested or assigned.

Technical Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.

  • Knowledge of building systems and maintenance procedures and/or a construction trade essential.

  • Ability to work and make decisions within established guidelines.

  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Strong documentation and follow-up skills.

  • Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions; skilled in following safety practices.

Competencies Required

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • Valid Colorado Driver’s License

  • One year facility maintenance experience and/or training or experience in a construction trade

Ongoing competence in the role to be assessed by:

  • Annual Performance Appraisal

  • Completion of all assigned Compliance training

Working Environment/Physical Activities

  • Occasional overtime may be required in cases of planned maintenance or emergency situations including weekend and after hours work on an after-hours on-call rotation basis.

  • Occasional domestic travel.

  • Typical office environment, but may include generator buildings, rooftops, electrical closets, and utility rooms.

  • Equipment used: hand and power tools, cargo van, moving (box) truck, moving dollies, hand trucks, ladders, cell phone, computer, etc.

  • Performing physical activities including lifting up to 50 pounds and to lift overhead and push/pull, move lighter objects.

  • Frequently sit, stand, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl, climb and balance.
