Janus Henderson Investors Internal Sales Consultant Intern- Summer 2021 in Denver, Colorado

Overview of the role

As an Internal Sales Consultant Intern you will support the internal and external sales teams with their efforts selling our investment products through a variety intermediary channels including: brokerage firms, financial advisors/brokers, banks, and insurance companies. You will assist in responding to client requests, run various reports for the Sales Team, and provide performance data in an effort to cultivate client relationships.

Duties and responsibilities

You will:

  • Respond to client needs and requests. Utilize information obtained to further develop business opportunities in a team-based approach.

  • Follow up with our Sales Team in a timely manner.

  • Generate client mailings and e-mails related to company products and promotions information.

  • Maintain departmental databases as well as client mailing lists, ensuring updated information.

  • Support departmental sales goals and territorial objectives by working closely with Client Consultants and Regional Sales Directors.

  • Perform a variety of administrative activities including coordinating client meetings, generating sales reports, and ordering literature materials as required.

  • Carry out additional duties as assigned.

Technical skills and qualifications

  • Intermediate computer skills including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Intermediate knowledge of mutual fund/financial industry products and services.

  • Candidates must be enrolled as a full-time student at the time of the internship

  • Incoming juniors and seniors highly preferred.

  • Looking for candidates who are passionate about the mutual fund/financial services industry.

Competencies required

In addition to putting clients first, acting like an owner, and succeeding as a team, the competencies for this role include:

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to develop strategic business relationships.

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Must have a high degree of self-motivation and the ability to work with little supervision.

Ongoing competence in the role to be assessed, in line with applicable regulatory requirements, by:

  • Annual performance appraisal

  • Completion of all assigned compliance training
