Overview of the Role

The Fixed Income Intern will support fixed income credit analysis with financial models, industry research, company research, credit analysis and various special projects. Additionally, at the end of summer the intern will be responsible for pitching a formal investment idea to the fixed income team.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Build detailed financial models including forecasts of revenues, expenses, earnings, free cash flows and valuation targets

  • Perform industry and company specific research

  • Earnings analysis

  • Bond relative value analysis

  • Covenant analysis

  • Present a pitch of a formal investment idea to the fixed income team Other Functions Assumes additional duties as assigned Supervisory Responsibilities

  • None Technical Skills and Qualifications

  • A current sophomore or junior in a Bachelor's program

  • Passionate about financial markets with an interest in investing

  • Basic understanding of Finance

  • Knowledge of Excel required

  • Must have analytical skills with the ability to accumulate, organize and assimilate large amounts of information and make informative insights

  • Excellent interpersonal, relationship building and customer service skills

  • Strong communication skills

  • Previous finance-related internship/experience preferred

  • All candidates must currently be enrolled in a four-year university program Ongoing competence in the role to be assessed by:

  • Annual Performance Appraisal

  • Completion of all assigned Compliance training Working Environment/Physical Activities

  • PC usage up to 100% of the time.

  • Office equipment such as telephone, copier, and fax machines, etc.
