Overview of the Role
This role will be responsible for delivering solutions for our marketing and client service departments. Janus Henderson has several data warehouses and is starting projects consolidating these into a final state architecture. It’s essential that candidates have superior team building skills, the ability to handle multiple projects and priorities, and the ability to collaborate with business partners, project managers, and other technology departments to deliver excellence.
Duties and Responsibilities
Perform design, documentation, development, testing, installation and support of complex data extract transformation and load (ETL) programs, using Informatica Power Center, Informatica Cloud, Data Quality, and Data Profiling as well as knowledge of data warehousing and data mart architectures, concepts and processes
Conduct the design and development of ETL code to extract, cleanse, aggregate, and load large datasets into an analytical data warehouse, using detailed knowledge of extract, transform and load procedures, technologies, techniques and test approaches
Define level of effort and ensure all Janus standards and processes are followed and enforced for the movement, transformation and loading of data
Improve existing data designs and design new databases and data models, including relational table structures, using Unix Shell Scripting, Oracle and SQL Server
Work closely with Janus Technology (business analysts and .Net developers) and Janus Business resources on efforts of various scope
Create and support the associated scheduling logic for the ETL using Janus standard scheduling tool
Read and translate logical data models and use ETL skills to load the physical layer, based on an understanding of timing of data loads, data transformation, and optimization of ETL load performance.
Provide production support and test approaches for data management projects
Coordinate with infrastructure teams to ensure adequate capacity and performance planning
Participate in all phases of the systems development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design (including code design and code reviews), development, testing and deployment
Assumes additional duties as assigned
Technical Skills and Qualifications
Five years of experience developing, maintaining and supporting ETL programs with various target/source types and ETL transformations
Three years of experience in data warehouse (with large datasets) and business intelligence environment working on the implementation of an enterprise data management processes, procedures, and decision support using Informatica Power Center v10.x, Data Quality (IDQ), Data Profiling (IDE)
Three years of experience using Informatica Power Center v10.x, Informatica Cloud is a plus.
Three years of experience using Unix Shell Scripting and developing Oracle and SQL Server stored procedures
Three years of experience working in financial services industry and order management systems

MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING AND CERTIFICATIONS:• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required
