Janus Henderson Investors Derivatives Onboarding Specialist in Denver, Colorado

The Department

The Derivative Onboarding team sits within the Global Operations team. The team is responsible for identifying which agreements are necessary in order to facilitate investment in various derivatives in Janus Henderson products and client accounts. They work with the brokers and internal stakeholder teams to prioritize, complete KYC with the various brokers and engage with our Third Party Administrators (TPAs) to enable the operational setup for derivative trading.

Overview of the role

The Derivatives Onboarding Specialist role will be primarily responsible for supporting the coordination of JHI Counterparty Onboarding, providing ongoing support to internal stakeholders, the coordination and management of trading documentation with counterparties.

Duties and responsibilities

You will:

  • Have responsibility for being the central coordination point both internally and externally for counterparty trading documentation, onboarding and owning the relationship and all escalations accordingly

  • Partner with various internal stakeholders like Legal, Compliance, Enterprise Risk, and wider Operations teams, as well as TPAs to coordinate and prioritise the derivatives onboarding process for Janus Henderson products and client accounts

  • Provide a central source of knowledge for Trading documentation and respond to internal and counterparty queries

  • Manage internal relationships with Trading desks and Portfolio Managers with respect to derivatives onboarding and day to day support where required

  • Manage counterparty KYC, credit reviews and due diligence on behalf of the Janus Henderson products and client accounts

  • Implement appropriate controls where required ensuring any procedures/policies is updated in line with any changes

  • Provide subject matter expertise to support on key process changes and technology initiatives impacting the Derivatives Onboarding Team or overall Global Operations team

  • Input and contribute to the team’s development; this includes keeping abreast of industry and regulatory developments, changes with respect to counterparties and derivative reforms, and analysing the impacts they will have on JHI and trading documentation

Supervisory responsibilities

Technical skills and qualifications

  • Experience and knowledge of working with documentation and commercial terms across financial business e.g. ISDA/CSA, CDEAs, CFD agreements and Prime Broker documentation

  • Understanding of the core instruments, products and funds used by Asset Managers

  • Strong IT skills; intermediate excel preferred

  • Previous experience in financial services, particularly asset management is advantageous

At a minimum the role will require you to:

Compensation Information

The base salary range for this position is $70,000 - $80,000. This range is estimated for this role. Actual pay may be different.

Annual Bonus Opportunity: Position is eligible to receive an annual discretionary bonus award from the profit pool. The profit pool is funded based on Company profits. Individual bonuses are determined based on Company, department, team and individual performance.
