Overview of the role
This Denver based role, reporting to the Director, Business Finance, sits within the within Business Finance team, which is primarily responsible for providing end to end financial support to Business Units, working closely with Executive Committee (ExCo) members and Senior Management. The team’s objective is to optimize use of the firm’s resources. This includes global resource planning, implementing and adhering to financial controls and facilitating effective forward-looking business decision making with commercial insight to identify opportunities to create value.
The Business Finance team works closely with the FP&A to collectively form the Global FP&A & Business Finance Team, which provides business partnering, Budgeting & Forecasting, Management Information and Executive level support across the firm and to various external stakeholders.
Duties and responsibilities
With 2 direct reports you will partner with the Global Distribution function and will:
Influence and communicate with Executive Committee members to ensure full understanding of financials
Lead end-to-end financial planning for Global Distribution.
Co-ordinate business planning and prioritization to include:
Expenses
Headcount
Flows
Projects
Prepare and summarize recommendations for financial and business planning and control
Review and analyze business plan and operational forecasts
Measure business performance by:
Working closely with specific business unit(s) to develop and analyze relevant metrics
Developing meaningful reporting of revenue metrics
Reporting and analyzing flows, highlighting key messages
Conduct special financial and business related research and studies as needed such as:
Business expansion, contraction or reallocation
Product launch, closure or merger
Buy / build analyses
Profitability and revenue optimization
Lead budgetary control by:

Reporting expenses and highlighting risks and opportunities to budgets
Understanding the specific drivers of cost across each team and ensuring budgets and forecasts reflect approved spend only
Constantly drive efficiency in process and cost management to ensure resources are efficiently utilized.
Work closely with HR business partners to monitor and control FTE and contractors.
Work with other Business Finance Managers to drive improved efficiency across the team

Share resources across the team as required
Drive improvements in systems and working practices
Carry out additional duties as assigned.

Technical skills and qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, or equivalent
Post-graduate degree (MBA, MS), or equivalent certification (CFA, CPA, CMA) preferred
Minimum of 5 years FP&A or management reporting experience across multiple functions
Business Partnering experience essential
Experience of working with and influencing Executive level Stakeholders
Strong financial modelling skills
Advanced competency with Microsoft Excel and proficiency with other Microsoft outlook tools
Ability to analyze data and provide relevant financial insight
Investment Management industry experience essential
Good understanding of the Distribution function essential
Proficiency with SAP BPC, Anaplan or other financial reporting software a plus

Compensation Information
The base salary range for this position is $105,000.00 - $120,000.00. This range is estimated for this role. Actual pay may be different.
Annual Bonus Opportunity: Position is eligible to receive an annual discretionary bonus award from the profit pool. The profit pool is funded based on Company profits. Individual bonuses are determined based on Company, department, team and individual performance.
