Overview of the role
As the Associate Analyst, you will work under the general direction of Equity Research Analysts covering the technology sector. You will directly support the analysts’ investment research process. Your specific responsibilities include but are not limited to: the development and maintenance of financial models, survey construction / results interpretation, regulatory filing / conference call reviews, and other company / industry specific research and due diligence. The role requires a passion for technology, analytical rigor and a high degree of critical thinking.
The role may ultimately require investment recommendations and providing industry insight to respective portfolio managers. You will successfully prioritize the determination of long-term value for their covered companies, seeking securities that are likely to outperform industry peers over many years.
Duties and responsibilities
Conducts research and analysis to help evaluate investment opportunities.
Builds and maintains a variety of excel based financial models (company, industry/sector, macro).
Collects industry and company data through various channels, including sell-side research firms, internal and external databases, trade publications, web scraping, and other online sources.
Reviews and organizes data, synthesizes information, and helps identify and analyze trends.
Crafts and maintains various surveys and checks with industry participants.
Independently exercises discretion in growing assigned projects to enhance the stock selection process. Applicant must be an engaging, highly ambitious self-starter.
Participates in the tech team weekly meeting, company management meetings and general investment team meetings. Applicant must have the desire to dialogue directly with senior executives of publicly traded companies.
Compile and communicate research findings with Portfolio Managers through written notes, reports, and presentations.
Carry out additional duties as assigned.
Has responsibility for supporting portfolios that are covered by the centralized equity research team.
Technical skills and qualifications
Four-year degree in finance, engineering, computer science, economics, accounting, or related field required.
Post-graduate degree such as MBA, and CFA and/or CPA helpful.
3+ years of equity investment experience desired, preferably buy side
Passion for business model analysis.
Strong modeling skills required. Need to be proficient in building and maintaining financial models to forecast future revenue, earnings, and cash flows.

The base salary range for this position is $75,000 to $100,000. This range is estimated for this role. Actual pay may be different.
Annual Bonus Opportunity: Position is eligible to receive an annual discretionary bonus award from the profit pool. The profit pool is funded based on Company profits. Individual bonuses are determined based on Company, department, team and individual performance.
